The Global Draw, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation [Nasdaq: SGMS], has strengthened its position in the Latin American gaming market with the successful installation of 600 additional terminals in Mexico. It increases The Global Draw’s installed base in the local market to approximately 1,000 terminals in 45 sites operated by Corporacion Intermericana de Entertenimiento (CIE), most of which are licensed bingo halls Neil Moir, Director of International Business Development for The Global Draw, said: “This is a strong testament to the potential for our business to expand beyond its traditional UK betting shop market. “Before our first installations, the Mexican gaming market consisted entirely of traditional gaming machines. The Global Draw’s introduction of multi-game, server based technology has been well received by players and makes a welcome addition to our fast growing international gaming portfolio.” CIE is Mexico’s leading diversified entertainment company. Head of Gaming, Carlos Zamudio, said: “The technology and quality of games supplied by The Global Draw has exceeded our expectations. We have created an extremely strong partnership and I am confident that we will build on this initial success.” The Global Draw was established in 1997 and has become a market leading operator of gaming machines in UK betting shops. Besides Mexico, the company also provides terminals to international gaming venues in mainland Europe, the Far East and the Caribbean.
