The Global Draw and Thurston UK are joining forces to introduce new gaming technology into UK Adult Gaming Centres (AGCs). Leading gaming machines provider The Global Draw, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation [Nasdaq: SGMS], will be providing its popular Nevada terminals at Thurston UK sourced venues over the coming months. Thurston UK, a national operator of gaming and amusement equipment, will in turn provide ongoing marketing and operational support to The Global Draw’s estate within the AGC sector. The alliance is being formally announced to coincide with the International Gaming Expo (IGE), which takes place at Earls Court from 27 to 29 January, and marks the start of Thurston UK’s involvement with venue sourcing and product distribution. Phil Horne, Managing Director of The Global Draw, said: “This is an extremely exciting development for our business. The Global Draw has made its name in the UK providing gaming machines to more than 3,300 betting shops and established a firm position as market leader thanks to our quality of service and innovative game and cabinet design. “This success paves the way for exciting ventures in new gaming markets and we look forward to applying our proven expertise to the AGC sector alongside Thurston UK.” John H W Thurston, Operations Director of Thurston UK, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Global Draw and together we look forward to bringing the AGC sector into line with the technological abilities that have only been available to the casino and betting sector until now. “This agreement will allow us to build upon our strong existing relationships with many operators and complements the range of operational services we already offer. Now more than ever operators are looking at ways in which they can increase their bottom line with as little risk as possible to existing revenue streams. “The Global Draw’s Nevada terminal allows operators to do exactly this with no capital outlay required and being based around a downloadable, server-based system, means the modern operator could not ask for more.” Nevada is a dual screen, dual purpose gaming machine capable of hosting content for all categories. The Global Draw has installed more than 12,000 of these machines in UK betting shops and a further 3,000 at gaming venues worldwide.
